John 20:29

This Sunday at Midway, we will reflect on the powerful journey from doubt to faith through John 20:19 to 31. In this resurrection story, we meet the disciples gathered behind locked doors, afraid and uncertain, and we meet Thomas, who longs for proof before he can believe. It is a story that reminds us that Jesus is not afraid of our questions. He comes to us in the middle of our fear, our wondering, and our waiting, and speaks peace. Faith does not always begin with certainty. Sometimes it begins with showing up, being honest, and opening our hearts to the presence of the risen Christ.

We are grateful that this week’s message will be shared by our lay leader, Randy Morris, who will bring the sermon and help guide us through this meaningful passage. As we worship together, we will also celebrate two beautiful moments in the life of the church, baptism by immersion and confirmation. These sacred acts are living signs of God’s grace at work among us. In baptism, we witness the promise of new life in Christ. In confirmation, we celebrate the public claiming of faith to join the church as professing members, and the ongoing journey of discipleship.

This Sunday will be a meaningful reminder that faith grows in many ways, through questions, through community, through courage, and through God’s steady presence. Come join us as we worship, celebrate, and give thanks for the risen Christ who still meets us where we are and leads us forward in faith.

Grace and peace

Because grace always follows peace,
