Great Love for God and Neighbor

The good news is not just something we believe, it is something we live. Jesus teaches us that loving God and loving neighbor belong together. In Matthew 25, Jesus says that when we feed the hungry, welcome the stranger, clothe the naked, and care for those in need, we are doing it for him. Love for God is made visible in the way we love people.

We see that same truth in the story of the woman who anoints Jesus’ feet. She comes with courage, tenderness, and costly love. While others judge her, Jesus sees her heart. He names her actions as great love and true hospitality. In that moment, Jesus shows that love is not about appearances or status, it is about a heart poured out for God and a willingness to honor the person in front of us.

This story invites us to ask honest questions. Do we really see people, or do we judge them too quickly. Do we make room for compassion, or do we hold back. The woman reminds us that love is bold, love is generous, and love does not wait for permission.

As we grow deeper in faith, Jesus keeps bringing us back to this foundation. Love God with all you are, and love your neighbor as yourself. When we do, we are not only serving others, we are worshiping Christ in our midst. That is the good news, and it is still changing the world.
