Our Pastor
Rev. Sharon White leads with a heart for creative ministry and community engagement. Drawing on her rural church roots and deep love for connecting people to God, she is passionate about cultivating “fresh expressions” of church that reach all people beyond traditional walls, especially in rural settings where faith and culture intertwine.
Known for her inclusive, welcoming spirit and a knack for building relationships across generations and backgrounds, Sharon has pioneered initiatives like Community Dinner Church, Street Church for the unhoused, and Bluegrass Church: a grassroots worship experience blending Appalachian music, storytelling, and authentic Christian hospitality. Her humble leadership reflects a commitment to making church accessible, joyful, and relevant, whether in a sanctuary, a fellowship hall, or under the open sky.
Sharon’s ministry is grounded in United Methodist tradition and shaped by a belief that God’s grace meets us wherever we are. She is dedicated to empowering laity, supporting community partnerships, and fostering spiritual growth through both classic and innovative approaches. Sharon’s work has helped her congregations and communities embrace new ways of being church, from community dinners to music-driven worship and outreach.
When she’s not preaching or planning the next fresh expression, Sharon enjoys good coffee, good food, art, and music. She believes there’s always room at the table, and in the circle, for one more, especially those on the fringe.
Our Lay Leader
Randy Morris is the heart and hands of Midway United Methodist Church’s ministry. As our dedicated lay leader, Randy partners with Pastor Sharon each week to create worship services that are not only creative and inspiring but truly transformative for everyone who attends. His passion for worship is matched only by his compassion for people, especially those often overlooked.
