Thanksgiving is more than a holiday. It is a spiritual practice that shapes the way we see God, ourselves, and the world around us. This Sunday at Midway, our worship will focus on Philippians 4:6–7, a passage that invites us to bring every worry, every concern, and every need to God with prayer and thanksgiving.
Paul teaches that gratitude is not something we wait to feel. It is something we choose to offer. And when we do, something beautiful happens. The peace of God settles over our hearts and minds, guarding us with a comfort and strength that the world cannot give.
That is the heart of our theme, Living in the Key of Thanks. Just like music finds harmony when played in the right key, our lives find harmony when gratitude becomes our daily rhythm. Worry begins to quiet. Joy rises. Peace enters the room. We start to see God at work even in the places where life feels uncertain.
Philippians 4 reminds us that thanksgiving is not denial of our struggles. It is confidence in God’s presence. When we pray with gratitude, we remember who holds us. We remember who provides for us. We remember who gives us peace that passes understanding.
This week, I invite you to practice living in the key of thanks. Begin each morning by naming something you are grateful for. When worry shows up, turn it into prayer. When you feel stressed, pause and breathe in the promise of God’s peace.
Come worship with us this Sunday as we learn together how gratitude can transform our hearts. When we live in the key of thanks, we discover a life shaped not by fear, but by the peace of God that stands guard over us every day.
