2025-09-27: A Life of Devotion Becomes a Life of Direction

sharon

This Sunday, we continue our Rule of Life series with the word Devotion. In 2 Timothy 3:14–4:2, the Apostle Paul gives his young friend Timothy an important reminder: stay rooted in what you have learned, keep the Scriptures close, and proclaim the message whether the time feels easy or hard.

Paul calls Scripture “God breathed.” That means the Bible is not just words on a page, but the living breath of God that teaches us, corrects us, and equips us for every good work. When we give ourselves in devotion to God, something powerful happens. We find direction for our lives.

I believe that is true for us today. In a world that changes faster than we can keep up, God remains steady and sure. Devotion is not just about reading the Bible; it is about letting the Spirit breathe life into us, shape our decisions, and guide our steps.

This week in worship, we will explore what it means to live with this truth: a life of devotion becomes a life of direction. I invite you to join us on Sunday at Midway UMC as we gather, listen to Scripture, and discover together how devotion provides direction, leading us into God’s good work.

Come ready to grow, ready to be encouraged, and ready to take the next step in your own journey of faith.

Until Everyone Hears, Pastor Sharon
